قَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، أَنْبَأَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ قَالَ : إِنَّ الْبَرَاءَ بْنَ مَعْرُورٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - تُوُفِّيَ قَبْلَ قُدُومِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - الْمَدِينَةَ ، فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ .
إِسْنَادُهُ صَحِيحٌ ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ مُرْسَلٌ .
875 \ 2 - وَرَوَاهُ الْحَارِثُ مَوْصُولًا ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - صَلَّى عَلَى قَبْرِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ مَعْرُورٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - وَكَبَّرَ عَلَيْهِ أَرْبَعَ تَكْبِيرَاتٍ .
إِسْنَادُهُ صَحِيحٌ ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ مُرْسَلٌ .
875 \ 2 - وَرَوَاهُ الْحَارِثُ مَوْصُولًا ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - صَلَّى عَلَى قَبْرِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ مَعْرُورٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - وَكَبَّرَ عَلَيْهِ أَرْبَعَ تَكْبِيرَاتٍ .
Humayd bin Hilal (may Allah have mercy on him) relates that Sayyiduna al-Bara' bin Ma'rur (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Madinah. Then, when he (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Madinah, he offered his funeral prayer.
Its chain is sahih (authentic), but this narration is mursal.
Imam al-Harith (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated it with a connected chain: Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) relates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) offered the funeral prayer at the grave of Sayyiduna al-Bara' bin Ma'rur (may Allah be pleased with him) and said four takbirs.
