وَقَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ : حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ بَكْرٍ الْمُزَنِيِّ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الصَّحَابَةِ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمْ - أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَجْعَلُ الرِّجَالَ مِنْ وَرَاءِ النِّسَاءِ ، وَالنِّسَاءَ مِمَّا يَلِيهِ .
Ibn Abi Umar (may Allah have mercy on him) relates: Bishr bin al-Sari narrated to us by way of Hammad, who narrates from Humayd, and he from Bakr al-Muzani, that it is reported from one of the eminent Companions (may Allah be pleased with him) among the noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) that (when offering the funeral prayer) he would place the men's biers behind the women's, while placing the women's biers on his own side, that is, near the imam.
