وَقَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ عَقِيصًا قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا - يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الْجِنَازَةُ وَحَضَرَ الْأَمِيرُ ، فَالْأَمِيرُ أَحَقُّ بِالصَّلَاةِ عَلَيْهَا .
Sayyiduna al-Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) relates: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "When a funeral is present (for the prayer) and the amir (the ruler of the time or the one in charge) is also present there, then that amir has the most right to lead the prayer over that funeral."
