حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ : أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا - : أَقْصُرُ إِلَى عَرَفَةَ ؟ قَالَ : لَا تَقْصُرِ الصَّلَاةَ إِلَّا مَسِيرَةَ الْيَوْمِ التَّامِّ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man asked him: "Should I shorten the prayer (on the short journey) to Arafah?" He replied: "Do not shorten the prayer unless the journey equals the distance of a full day's travel."
