قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَاشِدٍ ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : مَنْ تَرَكَ الصَّلَاةَ مُتَعَمِّدًا فَقَدْ بَرِئَتْ مِنْهُ ذِمَّةُ اللهِ تَعَالَى .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever deliberately abandons the prayer, then the covenant (dhimmah) of Allah Almighty (i.e. the pledge of protection and refuge from Him) is surely withdrawn from him."
In the chain of this hadith there is an unnamed (mubham) narrator ("a man") between Makhul and Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him); however, narrations with this same meaning are reported with reliable chains in other hadith books.
