It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that delegations of jinn came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from the region of al-Jazirah and stayed in the blessed company of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Then, when they intended to return to their homeland, they asked him (peace and blessings be upon him) for provisions for the journey, whereupon he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "At present I have nothing that I can give you as provisions, but (you are granted this facility:) every bone you pass by will turn into abundant meat for you, and every piece of dung you pass by will become fruit for you." This is why he (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade performing istinja with dung and decayed bone.
