It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The rows of the people of Hell will be made to pass (before the people of Paradise), and a man among them will pass by a man of the people of Paradise and say: 'O so-and-so, do you not recognise me?' He will ask: 'Who are you?' He will say: 'I am the one from whom you asked for water for ablution, and I provided you with water.' So that man of Paradise will intercede for him, and his intercession will be accepted. Likewise another man will pass by and say: 'O so-and-so, do you not recognise me?' He will ask: 'Who are you?' He will say: 'Did you not send me for such-and-such a task, and I fulfilled that need of yours?' So he (the man of Paradise) will intercede for him, and his intercession on his behalf will be accepted."
Its chain contains Yazid al-Raqashi, who is a da'if (weak) narrator.
Imam Abu Ya'la recorded it through Abbas bin al-Walid al-Narsi, Yusuf bin Khalid and al-A'mash.
Yusuf bin Khalid is matruk al-hadith (abandoned in hadith).
