Imam Ali bin Husayn (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from a man of knowledge that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Out of the greatness and majesty of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, the earth will be stretched out (on the Day of Resurrection) like leather, and at that time, owing to the severity of the crowding, no person among the children of Adam will have any space on the earth except the place of his two feet. Then I will be called first of all, and I will fall down in prostration (in the divine court). Then I will be given permission and I will say: 'O my Lord, this one informed me' - and Jibril (peace be upon him) will be on the right side of the Throne at that time; by Allah, he (peace and blessings be upon him) had never seen him (in his true form) before that - 'that it was You who sent him to me (with revelation).' At that time Jibril (peace be upon him) will be completely silent and will not say anything. Then Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, will say: 'He has spoken the truth.' Then I will be granted permission to intercede, and I will say: 'Ay Rabbi, ibaduka abaduka fi atraf al-ard' (O my Lord, these are Your servants who worshipped You alone in the far corners of the earth). And this is the Maqam Mahmud (praised station) (mentioned in this verse of the Noble Qur'an: "It may well be that your Lord will raise you to a praised station" [Surah al-Isra': 79])."
Imam al-Hakim declared it sahih (authentic).
