وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ ، ثَنَا أَبُو مَعْشَرٍ ، ثَنَا أَفْلَحُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا حَضَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ وَهُوَ يُقَسِّمُ الْغَنِيمَةَ ...... الْحَدِيثَ . فِي قَوْلِ الرَّجُلِ : " هَذِهِ قِسْمَةٌ مَا أُرِيدَ بِهَا وَجْهُ اللهِ " .
قَالَ : فَحَضَرْتُ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ مَعَ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ حِينَ قَتَلَهُمْ بِالنَّهْرَوَانِ ، فَالْتَمَسَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - يَعْنِي : الْمُخْدَجَ - قَالَ : فَلَمْ يَجِدْهُ ، ثُمَّ وَجَدَهُ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ تَحْتَ جِدَارٍ عَلَى هَذَا النَّعْتِ ، فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ : أَيُّكُمْ يَعْرِفُ هَذَا الرَّجُلَ ؟ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ : نَحْنُ نَعْرِفُهُ ، هَذَا حُرْقُوصٌ ، وَأُمُّهُ هَاهُنَا ، قَالَ : فَأَرْسَلَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ إِلَى أُمِّهِ ، فَقَالَ لَهَا : مِمَّنْ هَذَا ؟ قَالَتْ : مَا أَدْرِي يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، إِلَّا كُنْتُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ أَرْعَى غَنَمًا لِي بِالرَّبَذَةِ ، فَغَشِيَنِي شَيْءٌ كَهَيْئَةِ الظُّلْمَةِ ، فَحَمَلْتُ مِنْهُ ، فَوَلَدْتُ هَذَا .
قَالَ : فَحَضَرْتُ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ مَعَ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ حِينَ قَتَلَهُمْ بِالنَّهْرَوَانِ ، فَالْتَمَسَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - يَعْنِي : الْمُخْدَجَ - قَالَ : فَلَمْ يَجِدْهُ ، ثُمَّ وَجَدَهُ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ تَحْتَ جِدَارٍ عَلَى هَذَا النَّعْتِ ، فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ : أَيُّكُمْ يَعْرِفُ هَذَا الرَّجُلَ ؟ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ : نَحْنُ نَعْرِفُهُ ، هَذَا حُرْقُوصٌ ، وَأُمُّهُ هَاهُنَا ، قَالَ : فَأَرْسَلَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ إِلَى أُمِّهِ ، فَقَالَ لَهَا : مِمَّنْ هَذَا ؟ قَالَتْ : مَا أَدْرِي يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، إِلَّا كُنْتُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ أَرْعَى غَنَمًا لِي بِالرَّبَذَةِ ، فَغَشِيَنِي شَيْءٌ كَهَيْئَةِ الظُّلْمَةِ ، فَحَمَلْتُ مِنْهُ ، فَوَلَدْتُ هَذَا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was at Hunayn and was distributing the spoils of war (then the statement of a man was mentioned, who had said): "This is a distribution in which the pleasure of Allah has not been intended."
The narrator (Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him) says: After this incident I was present with Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) at the time when he killed them (the Khawarij) at Nahrawan. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) searched for that man, namely the mukhdaj (the one with the deformed limb); he was not found at first, but then he was found beneath a wall exactly matching the description and sign that had been given. Then Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: "Which of you recognises this man?" A man from the people said: "We recognise him; this is Hurqus, and his mother is present here." The narrator says: Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) sent for his mother and asked her: "From whom is this (son)?" She replied: "O Commander of the Believers! I do not know; all that happened was that in the time of Jahiliyyah I was grazing my goats at al-Rabadhah when suddenly something like a shadow of darkness covered me, from which I conceived, and then this boy was born."
Imam Abu Ya'la recorded this hadith in his Musnad; its chain is continuous up to Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) through Muhammad bin Bakkar, Abu Ma'shar, Aflah bin Abdullah bin al-Mughirah, al-Zuhri and Ubaydullah bin Abdullah bin Utbah.
