It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: "After the dream that I have seen, I will never fight. I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream placing his blessed hand on the Throne of Allah; and I saw Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) with his hand placed on the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); and I saw Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) with his hand placed on Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him); and I saw Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) with his hand placed on Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him); and I saw blood between them. I asked: 'What blood is this?' It was answered: 'This is the blood of Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), which Allah Almighty is demanding (for justice and retribution).'"
This narration is reported in the Musnad of Abu Ya'la and in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir of al-Tabarani (2712); there is weakness in its chain because of Jumay' bin Umayr.
