وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَخَطَبَ النَّاسَ بِتَبُوكَ : مَا فِي النَّاسِ مِثْلُ رَجُلٍ آخِذٌ بِرَأْسِ فَرَسِهِ مُجَاهِدًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ تَعَالَى وَيَجْتَنِبُ شُرُورَ النَّاسِ ، وَمِثْلُ رَجُلٍ بَادٍ فِي نِعْمَةٍ يَقْرِي ضَيْفَهُ وَيُعْطِي حَقَّهُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), while addressing the people at Tabuk, said: "Among people there is none like (in excellence and perfection) a man who holds the reins of his horse, striving in the path of Allah Almighty, and keeps away from the evils and fitnahs of people; and (likewise) there is none like a man living in the desert among his livestock and blessings, who honours his guest and pays the due (of Allah) in that wealth."
Imam Musaddad narrated this hadith, and all its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy) and reliable.
