It is narrated from Sayyiduna Amr bin Abasah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited 'Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak' [Surah al-Falaq: 1] and 'Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind' [Surah al-Nas: 1] in the morning prayer, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Al-Falaq means Hell."
Imam Abu Ya'la recorded this hadith in his Musnad; its chain contains a narrator named Mughallis al-Khurasani, who is da'if (weak), so this report is weak in terms of its chain. However, other authentic hadith are narrated about reciting the Mu'awwidhatayn in the Fajr prayer.
