It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed me to recite the surah 'By the night when it covers' [Surah al-Layl: 1] and the surah 'By the sun and its brightness' [Surah al-Shams: 1] in the morning, that is, the Fajr prayer."
I (Ibn Hajar) say: The narrator named Muhammad bin Umar in the chain of this report and the one before it is in fact al-Waqidi, who has been declared matruk (abandoned) in the science of hadith.
