قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْمُؤَمَّلِ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِذَا اخْتَلَفَ النَّاسُ فَالْحَقُّ فِي مُضَرَ ، وَإِذَا عَزَّتْ رَبِيعَةُ فَذَلِكَ ذُلُّ الْإِسْلَامِ .
4153 \ 2 - وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ بِهِ .

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When disagreement and dispute arise among people, the truth will be with the tribe of Mudar; and when the tribe of Rabi'ah gains dominance and power, that will be the humiliation and disgrace of Islam."
Imam Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaybah narrated this hadith via Humayd bin Abdul Rahman, Abdullah bin al-Mu'ammal and Ata from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), and Imam Abu Ya'la also transmitted it from Imam Abu Bakr with the same chain.
