وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : تَعَلَّمُوا مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ وَلَا تُعَلِّمُوهَا ، وَقَدِّمُوا قُرَيْشًا وَلَا تُؤَخِّرُوهَا ، فَإِنَّ لِلْقُرَشِيِّ قُوَّةَ الرَّجُلَيْنِ مِنْ غَيْرِ قُرَيْشٍ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Abi Hathmah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Learn (knowledge and insight) from Quraysh and do not try to teach them; put Quraysh forward (in leadership and command) and do not push them back, for one man of Quraysh has the strength and capability of two men from other than Quraysh."
Imam Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaybah narrated this hadith in his Musannaf, and its chain contains the route of Ma'mar from al-Zuhri; other imams of hadith have also narrated it through various chains, describing the virtue of Quraysh and their natural aptitude.
