It is narrated from Sayyiduna Qays bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) divorced Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her), and her two maternal uncles, Sayyiduna Qudamah and Sayyiduna Uthman bin Maz'un (may Allah be pleased with them both), came to her. At that time she (Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her)) was weeping and saying: "By Allah, he did not divorce me out of any aversion or because he had tired of me." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came, and Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) wrapped herself in her large outer cloak and veiled herself. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed Jibril (peace be upon him) said to me: 'Take Hafsah back, for she fasts very much and stands very often (at night) in worship, and she will be your wife in Paradise as well.'"
Imam al-Harith narrated it in his Musnad; and Yunus bin Muhammad narrated something similar from Hammad, from Abu Imran, from Qays bin Zayd or Yazid.
