حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ ، ثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ شَيْبَةَ بْنِ نَعَامَةَ ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْحُسَيْنِ ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ الْكُبْرَى - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمْ - قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لِكُلِّ بَنِي أُمٍّ عَصَبَةٌ يَنْتَمُونَ إِلَيْهِ إِلَّا وَلَدَ فَاطِمَةَ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا - فَأَنَا وَلِيُّهُمَا وَأَنَا عَصَبَتُهُمَا .
It is narrated from Sayyidah Fatimah al-Kubra (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The children of every mother have an 'asabah (paternal kin and guardian) to whom they are attributed, except the children of Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), for I am their guardian and I am their 'asabah."
Al-Tabarani recorded this hadith in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and it is evidence for the virtue of the pure People of the House (Ahl al-Bayt) and their special attribution to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
