It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I was taken up to the lowest heaven (for the Mi'raj), and I did not pass by any heaven without finding (these words written) in it: Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and Abu Bakr al-Siddiq is behind me (that is, my right hand and companion in the work)."
The chain of this report contains the narrators Abdullah bin Ibrahim al-Ghifari and Abd al-Rahman bin Zayd bin Aslam, whom the hadith scholars have declared da'if (weak), and for this reason its standing has been criticised.
