Chapter: The benefit of his (peace and blessings be upon him) intercession
Al-Matalib al-'Aliyah 3858 — The benefit of his ﷺ intercession

قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ : أَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، قَالَ : رَأَى عُمَرُ امْرَأَةً فِي زِيِّهَا ، فَقَالَ لَهَا : أَتَرَيْنَ قَرَابَتَكِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُغْنِي عَنْكِ مِنَ اللهِ شَيْئًا ؟ فَذَكَرَتْ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّهُ يَنْفَعُ شَفَاعَتِي .
قَالَ مَعْمَرٌ : فَأَخْبَرَنِي خَلَّادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ تِلْكَ الْمَرْأَةَ أُمُّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ، وَأَنَّهُ قَالَ لَهَا : إِنَّهُ يَنْفَعُ شَفَاعَتِي وَجًّا وَحَكَمًا .
قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ : وَهُمَا قَبِيلَتَانِ ، وَجًّا : قَبِيلَةٌ مِنْ جَوَلَانَ ، وَحَكَمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ : مِنْ مَذْحِجٍ .
قَالَ مَعْمَرٌ : فَأَخْبَرَنِي خَلَّادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ تِلْكَ الْمَرْأَةَ أُمُّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ، وَأَنَّهُ قَالَ لَهَا : إِنَّهُ يَنْفَعُ شَفَاعَتِي وَجًّا وَحَكَمًا .
قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ : وَهُمَا قَبِيلَتَانِ ، وَجًّا : قَبِيلَةٌ مِنْ جَوَلَانَ ، وَحَكَمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ : مِنْ مَذْحِجٍ .
It is narrated from Qatadah (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a woman in her particular adornment and dress, and said to her: "Do you think that your kinship with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) will benefit you anything with Allah?" The woman mentioned this to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, my intercession will be of benefit."
Ma'mar said: Khallad bin Abd al-Rahman informed me from his father that the woman was Sayyidah Umm Hani bint Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with her), and that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her (by way of further explanation): "Indeed, my intercession will benefit even 'Wajj' and 'Hakam' (tribes as distant as these)."
Abd al-Rahman said: These are the names of two tribes; 'Wajj' is a tribe of Jawlan, while 'Hakam bin Sa'd' belongs to the tribe of Madhhij.
