It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the day (of punishment) of the people of Ad came, a fierce wind lifted up the desert dwellers along with their wealth and their livestock. Then, when it had raised them from the earth high into the sky, they said (on seeing the cloud): 'This is a cloud bringing us rain' [Surah al-Ahqaf: 24]." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then that wind brought those desert dwellers and overturned them onto the town dwellers."
Imam Abu Ya'la recorded this hadith in his Musnad; its first chain is the route of Muhammad bin Fudayl from Muslim bin Kaysan al-Mula'i from Mujahid, while in the second chain Ahmad bin Imran al-Akhnasi also transmitted it similarly from Ibn Fudayl.
