وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ مُضَرِّبٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ : ( إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ الشَّيْخَ يُنْشِدُ الشِّعْرَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَيَذْكُرُ أَيَّامَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ ، فَاقْرَعُوا رَأْسَهُ بِالْعَصَا ) .
صَحِيحٌ مَوْقُوفٌ .

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "When you see an old man reciting poetry in the mosque on the day of Jumu'ah and recounting the events and tales of the days of Ignorance (Jahiliyyah), then strike him on the head with a stick."
This narration is sahih (authentic) and mawquf (stopping at the Companion).
