[قَالَ] الْحُمَيْدِيُّ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي النَّوْمِ ، فَقُلْتُ [لَهُ] : يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ، أَرَأَيْتَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ الَّذِي يُحَدَّثُ بِهِ عَنْكَ : إِنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ تَتَأَذَّى مِمَّا يَتَأَذَّى مِنْهُ بَنُو آدَمَ " ؟ فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " حَقٌّ " .
It is narrated from Sufyan bin Uyaynah (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream, and I said to him: "O Messenger of Allah! What do you say about this hadith that is narrated from you: 'Indeed, the angels are hurt and displeased by the things that hurt the children of Adam'?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is entirely true and right."
