It is narrated from Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami that he said to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): "Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reads the blessed verse 'And it is not for a prophet an yaghalla' [Surah Al Imran: 161] with a fathah on the letter ghayn." He said to me: "It is indeed possible for a prophet to be deceived and betrayed, or to be killed; but the actual reading is 'an yaghulla', that is, with a dammah on the ghayn, because it is not befitting of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, to make any prophet one who betrays."
