Al-Matalib al-'Aliyah 3562 — Surah Al Imran

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "Drowsiness overcoming one during fighting is a sign of security and inner tranquillity granted by Allah Almighty, whereas being overcome by drowsiness during prayer is a means from Satan (to disrupt worship)."
This athar is the saying of a Companion (mawquf), and its chain is hasan (good); Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal recorded it in his Musnad (no. 3562).
