وَقَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ [الطَّيَالِسِيُّ] : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، أَخْبَرَنِي جَابِرٌ ، عَنْ عَمَّارٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ بَنَى مَسْجِدًا وَلَوْ كَمَفْحَصِ قَطَاةٍ لِبَيْضِهَا بَنَى اللهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ " .
352 \ 2 - وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ [ابْنُ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ] ، وَأَبُو يَعْلَى ، جَمِيعًا : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ الْحِمَّانِيُّ ، ثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ عَمَّارٍ الدُّهْنِيِّ ، فَذَكَرَهُ بِلَفْظِ : " مَنْ بَنَى لِلهِ مَسْجِدًا بَنَى اللهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ " .
352 \ 2 - وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ [ابْنُ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ] ، وَأَبُو يَعْلَى ، جَمِيعًا : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ الْحِمَّانِيُّ ، ثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ عَمَّارٍ الدُّهْنِيِّ ، فَذَكَرَهُ بِلَفْظِ : " مَنْ بَنَى لِلهِ مَسْجِدًا بَنَى اللهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever builds a mosque, even if it is as small as the nest where a (qata) bird lays its eggs, Allah Almighty will build for him a house in Paradise in return."
Al-Harith and Abu Ya'la narrated something of the same meaning through Yahya bin Abd al-Hamid, from Sharik, from Ammar al-Duhni, in these words: "Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, Allah Almighty will build for him a house in Paradise in return."
