وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ بْنُ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ وَاصِلٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَتَبَوَّأُ لِبَوْلِهِ كَمَا يَتَبَوَّأُ لِمَنْزِلِهِ .
35 \ 2 - قَالَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ فِي كِتَابِهِ فِي الصَّحَابَةِ : حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ الْفَرُّخَانِ ، ثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي السَّرِيِّ ، ثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ وَاصِلٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ صَيْفِيٍّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ . فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ فَلَزِمَ مِنْ هَذَا أَنْ تَرْجَمَ لِصَيْفِيٍّ فِي الصِّحَابَةِ .
35 \ 2 - قَالَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ فِي كِتَابِهِ فِي الصَّحَابَةِ : حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ الْفَرُّخَانِ ، ثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي السَّرِيِّ ، ثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ وَاصِلٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ صَيْفِيٍّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ . فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ فَلَزِمَ مِنْ هَذَا أَنْ تَرْجَمَ لِصَيْفِيٍّ فِي الصِّحَابَةِ .
Sayyiduna Ubayd bin Sayfi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from his father: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to select and search for (a soft and suitable spot) for urinating just as he (peace and blessings be upon him) would search for a suitable place for his residence and lodging." Imam Sa'id bin Ya'qub al-Asbahani, in his book 'al-Sahabah', recorded it through Ubayd bin Sayfi from his father, and clarified this scholarly point: that on the basis of this narration it is necessary to mention Sayfi (may Allah be pleased with him) in the list of the Companions and their biographies.
