قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَعْبٍ الْقُرَظِيُّ ، عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ قَرَأَ حَرْفًا مِنْ كِتَابِ اللهِ تَعَالَى كَتَبَ اللهُ تَعَالَى لَهُ بِهِ حَسَنَةً ، لَا أَقُولُ : الم حَرْفٌ ، وَلَكِنَّ الْحُرُوفَ مُقَطَّعَةٌ : الْأَلِفُ ، وَاللَّامُ ، وَالْمِيمُ . "
3475 \ 2 - وَرَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ فَقَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبَانَ ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، ثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُبَيْدَةَ بِهِ .
3475 \ 2 - وَرَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ فَقَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبَانَ ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، ثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُبَيْدَةَ بِهِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Awf bin Malik al-Ashja'i (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever recites one letter of the Book of Allah Almighty, Allah Almighty writes for him one good deed in return for it. I do not say that 'Alif Lam Mim' is one letter; rather, these letters are separate and distinct: Alif is one letter, Lam is one letter and Mim is one letter."
Imam al-Bazzar also narrated it; he said: Ahmad bin Aban narrated to us; he said: Abd al-Aziz bin Muhammad narrated to us, and he narrated this hadith through Musa bin Ubaydah with the chain mentioned above.
