وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ الْمُحَبَّرِ ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ ثُمَامَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مُرُوهُمْ بِالصَّلَاةِ [لِسَبْعٍ ، وَاضْرِبُوهُمْ عَلَيْهَا لِثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ " .
دَاوُدُ مَتْرُوكٌ ، وَقَدْ خَالَفَ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ سَنَدًا وَمَتْنًا ] .

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Order your children to perform prayer at the age of seven, and when they reach the age of thirteen (and are lax in prayer), discipline them for it."
