It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "Gatherings are of three kinds: among them is one that gains, one that remains safe, and one that perishes. The gaining one is the servant who remembered Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, so Allah Almighty remembered him (with His mercy); the safe one is the servant who dictated to his recording angel (who writes his deeds) neither any good nor any evil; and the perishing one is the person who took part in falsehood and futile talk, so he drew calamity and ruin upon himself."
The chain of this narration is of hasan (good) grade, and Imam al-Bayhaqi transmitted it in Shu'ab al-Iman.
