قَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، ثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ ، عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَسْبِقَ الدَّائِبَ الْمُجْتَهِدَ فَلْيَكُفَّ عَنِ الذُّنُوبِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever is pleased to outstrip the diligent one who is constantly occupied (in good deeds), let him refrain from sins."
Musnad Abi Ya'la: 4376. Allamah al-Haythami narrated it in Majma' al-Zawa'id, and its chain contains a narrator named Yusuf bin Maymun, who is da'if (weak).
