It is narrated from Sayyiduna Amr bin Malik al-Ru'asi (may Allah be pleased with him) that I came into the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "Irda 'anni" (O Messenger of Allah, be pleased with me). He (peace and blessings be upon him) turned his blessed face away from me three times, upon which I said: "O Messenger of Allah! By Allah, indeed when the Lord, the Blessed and Exalted, is asked for His pleasure, He becomes pleased." The narrator says: "So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) became pleased with me."
Imam al-Bazzar narrated this narration through Ibrahim bin Ziyad al-Sa'igh from Waki' with this same chain, and said: We do not know any narration of Amr bin Malik other than this one hadith.
