It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "If a man were to enter a house (a room) lying in the innermost part of another house and persistently do some deed there, it would not be long before people began to talk about it. And there is no doer who does a deed except that Allah Almighty clothes him in the cloak of that deed: if the deed is good, its recompense and mark are good, and if the deed is evil, its recompense and mark are evil."
This report is established from Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) as mawquf with a good (jayyid) chain; its basic purpose is to make clear that no hidden deed of a person is concealed from Allah Almighty, and that He makes its effects manifest before the people.
