قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ : أَخْبَرَنَا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ أَبِي يَعْقُوبَ الْمَدَنِيُّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " أَرْبَعٌ مِنْ سَعَادَةِ الْمَرْءِ : أَنْ تَكُونَ زَوْجَتُهُ مُوَافِقَةً ، وَأَوْلَادُهُ أَبْرَارًا ، وَإِخْوَانُهُ صَالِحِينَ ، وَأَنْ يَكُونَ رِزْقُهُ فِي بَلَدِهِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Four things are part of a person's good fortune and happiness: that his wife is agreeable and in harmony with his temperament, that his children are righteous and dutiful, that his brothers and friends are pious, and that his provision and means of livelihood are available in his own town and land."
In the chain of this report, Baqiyyah bin al-Walid is a mudallis and he has not stated explicitly here that he heard it; moreover, because of the solitary narration (tafarrud) of its other narrators, its chain is considered weak by the hadith scholars, although some of its parts are established by other authentic supporting reports.
