وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ هُوَ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ ، ثَنَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، حَدَّثَنِي فَائِدٌ مَوْلَى عَبَادِلَ ، حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : إِنَّ جَدَّتَهُ سَلْمَى أَخْبَرَتْهُ قَالَتْ : دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمْ فَقَالُوا : اصْنَعِي لَنَا طَعَامًا مِمَّا كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَأْكُلَهُ ، قَالَتْ لِلْحَسَنِ : يَا بُنَيَّ ، إِنَّا لَا نَشْتَهِيهِ الْيَوْمَ ، فَأَخَذَتْ شَعِيرًا فَطَحَنَتْهُ ، وَنَسَفَتْهُ ، وَجَعَلَتْ مِنْهُ خُبْزَةً وَجَعَلَتْ أُدْمَهُ الزَّيْتَ وَنَثَرَتْ عَلَيْهِ فُلْفُلًا ، وَقَرَّبَتْهُ إِلَيْهِمْ وَقَالَتْ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُحِبُّ هَذِهِ وَيُحْسِنُ أَكْلَهَا .
أَخْرَجَهُ ( التِّرْمِذِيُّ ) فِي الشَّمَائِلِ .

It is narrated from Sayyidah Salma (may Allah be pleased with her) that Sayyiduna al-Hasan bin Ali, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with them) came to me and said: "Prepare for us the food that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) liked and that he (peace and blessings be upon him) used to eat with relish." She said to Sayyiduna al-Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him): "O my dear son, these days we no longer have a desire for such (simple) food." Then she took a little barley, ground it, sifted it to clean away its husks, made bread from it, used olive oil as its condiment and sprinkled black pepper over it. Then she placed it before them and said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) loved this food very much and used to eat it with great pleasure and relish."
