Ibrahim bin Abi Mahdhurah narrates from his father, and he from his grandfather (may Allah be pleased with him), that he said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) enter the Sacred Mosque from the direction of the gate of Banu Shaybah, until he came in front of the Ka'bah. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) faced the qiblah and drew a line across, in its width, in front of himself. Then he said 'Allahu Akbar' (Allah is the Greatest) and began the prayer, while people were passing between that line and the Ka'bah performing the tawaf."
Imam Abu Ya'la narrated this hadith; however, in its chain Husam bin Abbad is weak (da'if), and the father of Ibrahim bin Abi Mahdhurah, Abd al-Aziz bin Abd al-Malik bin Abi Mahdhurah, is a maqbul (acceptable) narrator.
