It is narrated from Ishaq bin Suwayd that Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a man praying far away from the direction of the qiblah (that is, the proper place in the row), so he warned him, saying: "Step forward and stand; do not spoil your prayer to your own detriment. And I have only told you what I myself heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say."
Imam al-Harith recorded this hadith in his Musnad (313), and all its men are thiqat (trustworthy).
