قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ : حَدَّثَنَا زَمْعَةُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ جَالِسًا فِي مَجْلِسٍ فِيهِمْ عُبَادَةُ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، فَقَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : أَتَانِي جِبْرِيلُ ، عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ ، مِنْ عِنْدِ اللهِ تَعَالَى ، فَقَالَ : يَا مُحَمَّدُ ، إِنَّ اللهَ تَعَالَى يَقُولُ : إِنِّي فَرَضْتُ عَلَى أُمَّتِكَ خَمْسَ صَلَوَاتٍ ، مَنْ وَفَى بِهِنَّ عَلَى وُضُوئِهِنَّ وَمَوَاقِيتِهِنَّ وَرُكُوعِهِنَّ وَسُجُودِهِنَّ فَإِنَّ لَهُ بِهِنَّ عِنْدِي عَهْدًا أَنْ أُدْخِلَهُ بِهِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ الْحَدِيثَ .
It is narrated from Abu Idris (may Allah have mercy on him): I was present in a gathering in which Sayyiduna Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) was also seated. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Jibril (peace be upon him) came to me from Allah, Glorified and Exalted, and said: 'O Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! Allah Almighty says: I have made five prayers obligatory upon your Ummah. Whoever performs them while fully observing their ablution, their times, and their bowing and prostration, then I have a covenant and pledge for him that, because of these prayers, I will admit him into Paradise.'"
