وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ ، وَإِبْرَاهِيمُ [السَّامِيُّ ] ، قَالَا : ثَنَا أَبَانُ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى [ أَنَّ ] قُرَّةَ بْنَ أَبِي قُرَّةَ ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ أَبَا أُسَيْدٍ حَدَّثَهُ : أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَجُلًا يُصَلِّي بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ ، فَزَجَرَهُ ، وَقَالَ : لَا تُصَلِّ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ ، فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " لَا صَلَاةَ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ " - لَفْظُ هُدْبَةَ - .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Usayd (may Allah be pleased with him) that he saw a man performing [a voluntary] prayer after the Asr prayer, so he strongly forbade him from doing so and said: "Do not pray after Asr, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'There is no [voluntary] prayer after the Asr prayer.'" These are the words of the narration of [the narrator] Hudbah.
