[وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ] : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ الْمَقْبُرِيَّ ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ نِصْفَ النَّهَارِ إِلَّا يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade performing prayer at exactly midday (precisely at noon), except on Friday."
Imam al-Harith narrated it in his Musnad (Bughyat al-Bahith: 314). Its chain contains Muhammad bin Umar al-Waqidi, who is a weak narrator; however, there are other supporting reports and reports of the Companions concerning the exception of Friday.
