وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَجُلًا يُدْعَى يَعْلَى قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي طَلْقٌ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيُصَلِّي الصَّلَاةَ وَمَا فَاتَهُ مِنْ وَقْتِهِ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ أَهْلِهِ وَمَالِهِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Talq (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, a man offers the prayer, yet the (virtuous part) of its time that he missed was better and more precious for him than his family and his wealth."
Imam Abu Ya'la recorded this hadith in his Musnad. It encourages offering the prayer at the start of its time, so that the believer is not deprived of that great reward which far surpasses worldly rank and wealth.
