وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُمَرَ الْحَاطِبِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ ، عَنْ سَوْدَةَ بِنْتِ حَارِثَةَ امْرَأَةِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَزْمٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَزْمٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَبْصُقُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ ، وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ ، وَبَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Amr bin Hazm (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) spitting to his right, to his left and in front of him."
Imam al-Harith recorded this hadith in his Musnad. Its chain contains the narrator Muhammad bin Umar al-Waqidi, whose reliability the hadith scholars have criticised.
