وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ ، عَنْ رَبَاحِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، كَانَ إِذَا اشْتَكَى نَفَثَ فِي يَدَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ رَدَّهُمَا عَلَى وَجْهِهِ .
It is narrated from Imam al-Zuhri (may Allah have mercy on him): "Whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) suffered some physical pain or illness, he (peace and blessings be upon him) would blow into both his hands (while reciting ruqyah), then wipe them both over his blessed face."
Imam Musaddad recorded it, and its chain is mursal sahih (authentic but with the Companion omitted).
