It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Miqdad bin al-Aswad (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a guest spends the night deprived (and hungry among a people), it becomes obligatory upon all the Muslims to help him, until they obtain his right of hospitality for him from the (host's) crops or livestock (milk)."
Comment: Thus Imam Ishaq recorded it in the Musnad of al-Miqdad bin al-Aswad (may Allah be pleased with him), whereas its origin is known from the hadith of Sayyiduna al-Miqdad bin Ma'dikarib (may Allah be pleased with him).
