It is narrated from Ibn Abi Mulaykah (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) would often see a snake in her house, so she gave an order and it was killed. Then someone came to her in a dream and said to her: "Why did you have this Muslim, Abdullah (a jinn), killed?" She said: "Had he been a Muslim, he would not have looked upon the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) without permission!" At this it was said to her: "Do you not know that he would only appear when you had gathered your clothes about you and covered yourself?" The narrator said: So when morning came, Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) gave twelve thousand (dirhams) in charity (as a ransom or expiation for it).
