وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، ثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ [هُوَ الشَّعْبِيُّ ] ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ يَتَفَوَّهُ . فَقُلْتُ : مَا شَأْنُكَ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ؟ قَالَ : أَشْتَهِي جَرَادًا مَقْلُوًّا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: I saw Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) opening his mouth and showing a longing for a taste (or his mouth watering), so I said: "O Commander of the Believers, what is the matter with you?" He said: "I have a craving to eat fried locusts."
