وَقَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ ظِبْيَانَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَجُلًا مِنْ بَنِي حَنِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : " سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ : ذَهَبْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى يَهُودِ بَنِي قَيْنُقَاعَ ، فَأَبْصَرَ رَجُلًا مُتَخَلِّقًا فَقَبَضَ يَدَهُ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ، لَعَلَّهُ عَرُوسٌ ، قَالَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : وَإِنْ ، اذْهَبْ فَاغْسِلْهُ ثُمَّ انْهَكْهُ ، ثُمَّ اغْسِلْهُ ثُمَّ انْهَكْهُ [ثُمَّ اغْسِلْهُ ثُمَّ انْهِكْهُ] .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "I went with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to the Jews of Banu Qaynuqa', and he (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man who had applied a yellow-coloured perfume (khaluq), so he (peace and blessings be upon him) withheld his hand (instead of shaking hands with him, or to forbid him). I said: O Messenger of Allah, perhaps he is a bridegroom. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Even if he is a bridegroom (it is still not permissible). Go and wash it (off) and then rub it thoroughly, then wash it (off) and then rub it thoroughly.
