وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ قَالَ : إِنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ رَأَى رَجُلًا يَجُرُّ إِزَارَهُ ، فَقَالَ : ارْفَعْ إِزَارَكَ . قَالَ : إِنِّي حَمْشُ السَّاقَيْنِ .
Musaddad (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Yahya narrated to us from Sufyan, from al-A'mash, from Abu Wa'il. Abu Wa'il (may Allah have mercy on him) says: "Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a man dragging his izar (i.e. the waist-wrap or trousers worn to cover the lower body) along the ground. He (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: 'Raise your izar.' The man said: 'My shins are thin.'"
