حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ - [عَنْ] عُمَرُ بْنُ رَاشِدٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لَا تَرِثُ مِلَّةٌ مِلَّةً ، وَلَا تَجُوزُ شَهَادَةُ مِلَّةٍ عَلَى مِلَّةٍ إِلَّا أُمَّةَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَإِنَّ شَهَادَتَهُمْ تَجُوزُ عَلَى مَنْ سِوَاهُمْ .
It is narrated from Abu Salamah (may Allah have mercy on him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No religion (i.e. faith or creed) inherits from (a member of) another religion, nor is the testimony of (a member of) one religion permissible against (a member of) another religion, except for the Ummah of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), for their testimony is permissible against those other than them."
