It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that whenever a person intended to accompany him on a journey, he would impose on him the condition that he would not travel with us on a camel that is not lawful (permissible and pure), that he would not dispute and argue with us over giving the adhan, and that he would not keep a (voluntary) fast without our permission.
Imam Nafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) relates that a man used to accompany him on journeys, and he would order us to wake him (for the pre-dawn meal) and prepare his suhur meal for him.
