قَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَابِرٍ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ ، عَنْ مِرْدَاسٍ قَالَ : إِنَّ رَجُلًا رَمَى رَجُلًا بِحَجَرٍ فَقَتَلَهُ ، فَأَتَى بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَقَادَهُ مِنْهُ .
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَابِرٍ ضَعِيفٌ .
وَرَوَاهُ حَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَرْطَاةَ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَشْيَاخُنَا الَّذِينَ أَدْرَكُوا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ . فَذَكَرَهُ .
وَحَجَّاجٌ فِيهِ مَقَالٌ .
وَقَدْ تَابَعَهُ الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي ثَوْرٍ ، عَنْ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ مِرْدَاسِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ قَالَ : رَمَى رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْحَيِّ أَخًا لَهُ فَقَتَلَهُ ، وَفَرَّ فَوَجَدْنَاهُ عِنْدَ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، فَانْطَلَقْنَا بِهِ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَقَادَ مِنْهُ .
أَخْرَجَهُ ابْنُ السَّكَنِ فِي الصَّحَابَةِ ، وَذَكَرَهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي التَّارِيخِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بِهِ .
وَإِسْنَادُهُ جَيِّدٌ .
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَابِرٍ ضَعِيفٌ .
وَرَوَاهُ حَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَرْطَاةَ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَشْيَاخُنَا الَّذِينَ أَدْرَكُوا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ . فَذَكَرَهُ .
وَحَجَّاجٌ فِيهِ مَقَالٌ .

أَخْرَجَهُ ابْنُ السَّكَنِ فِي الصَّحَابَةِ ، وَذَكَرَهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي التَّارِيخِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بِهِ .
وَإِسْنَادُهُ جَيِّدٌ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mirdas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man struck another with a stone and killed him. He was brought into the blessed presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) carried out retaliation (qisas) on him.
Muhammad bin Jabir, who is in its chain, is a da'if (weak) narrator.
Hajjaj bin Artah also narrated it from Ziyad bin Ilaqah, (who said): Our shaykhs who lived in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed us; then he mentioned the same incident.
However, Hajjaj too has been criticised by the scholars.
Al-Walid bin Abi Thawr, though, corroborated Muhammad bin Jabir, narrating through Ziyad from Mirdas bin Urwah, in which he said: A man of the tribe struck a brother of his with a stone and killed him, and he fled. Then we found him with Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him), so we took him to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) took retaliation from him.
Ibn al-Sakan recorded it in "Kitab al-Sahabah", and al-Bukhari mentioned it in "al-Tarikh", saying: Muhammad bin al-Sabbah told us that al-Walid narrated this hadith.
And this chain of it is jayyid (good).
